Our Membership is open to all individuals who are willing to actively participate according to their abilities. Plots are available annually on a first come, first serve basis. You an also opt to join us as a volunteer, without having your own garden plot. We are always in need of helping hands for our community events, garden maintenance etc.

How to apply?
Our gardens are usually at capacity every season. We do have an ongoing waiting list that you can have your name added to. As soon as a plot opens up, you will be contacted. Click the link below to open and fill out the application form. Once completed, please send it to memb.gscg.jcsb@gmail.com
Payment instruction will follow after application review.
Rates
The rate for a seasonal garden plot is CAD 25/year.
This fee includes the use of the GSCG facilities and tools.

Volunteer Opportunities
We always need volunteers to help in the gardens with planting, weeding, composting, harvesting etc.
Other volunteer opportunities include: setting up for our events, prepare for and clean up after workshops, help with our community outreach programs, ...
Members' Rights
RIGHTS:
The right to make use of leased plots.
The right to participate in discussions and decisions at all public meetings.
The right to be kept informed of all activities and changes.
The right to provide input on the GSCG operations.
The right to make use of facilities and tools belonging to the GSCG.
The right to retain assigned plots in subsequent years as long as plot fees are paid within prescribed time.
Members' Responsibilities
​Responsible for paying annual plot fees.
Responsible for having plots planted by and cleaned out by the dates determined by the GSCG annually.. Failure to do so could result in reassignment of plots.
Responsible to volunteer a minimum of 4 hours per season, if required, to help with the maintenance, improvement, promotion etc. of the garden.
Garden Rules

Members will respect the plots of all other participants.
Members will plant at least 4 different vegetables and / or herbs, and practice crop rotation where possible.
Only annuals are to be planted in the GSCG.
No invasive plants will be allowed to be planted in the garden.
Members will keep the garden plots and surroundings, free of weeds.
Members will keep garden tools clean and put them away in the garden shed when finished.
Members are responsible for locking the garden shed and entrance gate when leaving.
Members will make sensible use of water..
Members will keep the garden free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers.
Members will recycle garden waste in compost containers or compost piles, as per procedures.
Members will notify committee members of damage or theft in the garden.
Members will abide by the ecological principles of the organization. These are as follows:
Members are encouraged to share their surplus vegetables with others to work towards greater food security.
Members are also encouraged to share their knowledge of gardening practices with others, to improve the quantity and quality of the harvest at the GSCG.
